Cool treats

Our commitment is to make nutritional education as commonplace as math and writing in schools. To achieve this, the Aartsen Kids Foundation has developed 'Stoere Traktaties' (Cool Treats). Through this program, children playfully experience how fun, tasty, and cool fruit and vegetables are, with a focus on treating. When is 'Stoere Traktaties' successful? When children are inspired and enthused, seeing eating fruit and vegetables as a daily treat for themselves.

Experiential Learning

Various studies have shown that by communicating with the power of 'experience,' children are more open to a message. Through participation, children often discover new flavors, from exotic to seasonal, all fresh from our warehouse, from passion fruit to radishes. A crate with 'Fruit Mess' comes into the classroom; lesson materials including games, craft kits, workbooks, animations, and taste experiences. Of course, children are treated to fresh fruit and vegetables to taste and to make cool treats themselves.

Implementation and Duration

The lessons are specially designed for children aged 7 to 10 and can easily be incorporated into the regular curriculum. We are happy to explore together what works best for your school.

Healthy School Activity

'Stoere Traktaties' is a recognized intervention by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). Participation contributes to achieving the 'Healthy School' badge.
